A few weeks ago I wrote about how thousands of people search the internet every year to find out how to raise money to donate their testicles. It still boggles my mind that anyone would want to do this. Aside from the fact that it’s illegal, if you remove the testicles, they don’t magically regenerate. But you know what recreates it? Mine!

You’re Forcing Me To Do What To Donate?

So consider this a continuation of this article. Today we are here to learn how to donate sperm as a side game.

TLDR (too long no read): If you can pass a rigorous screening process and find motivation, you can earn up to $1,200 a month donating sperm.

Sperm donation is a process in which a man gives his donor sperm to a woman who intends to use it to get pregnant. This process is traditionally facilitated by a sperm center that oversees the screening process of donors and sperm samples. This center is where anyone with a uterus and ovaries can access sperm for artificial insemination. Typical clients are people who want to get pregnant but do not have a male partner with suitable sperm, such as a single woman, a same-sex couple, or a same-sex couple without children.

The big problem with considering sperm donation as a gift is that not every man meets the criteria to become a potential donor. There is a thorough screening process to ensure you are a good candidate for donation. Before the donation center even performs a semen analysis on you, you must pass two hurdles: a questionnaire and a physical examination.

Blood Donation: A Call To Action

Detailed questionnaires are likely to be provided through the online application and include questions on the following topics:

Men who had sex with men were generally excluded, as were men with a history of IV use. A detailed family history tries to find opportunities for common genetic conditions. If you have a family member with this genetic disease, you may be disqualified.

You must be at least 18 years of age to be considered and the age is generally reduced to 39-40 years. Some sperm banks have minimum height and education levels, such as university.

If you pass the questionnaire and application, the complete physical will continue. It’s a blood pressure check, like your body, every year. It is a comprehensive examination that ends with a blood test, urine sample, color test and genetic test.

Chart: Who Can You Give Blood To?

The first tests are to detect infectious diseases such as hepatitis, HIV or reproductive characteristics such as color blindness. Genetic testing looks for common conditions such as thalassemia, cystic fibrosis, Tay-Sachs disease, and sickle cell anemia. A urine test can look for drugs as well as blood, glucose, and inflammatory cells.

If you pass the test and physical examination, you can continue to test your sperm quality.

For this test, you usually collect a semen sample in a sterile container 2 to 3 days after ejaculation. Due to the importance of this test, you will perform it by masturbating in a sperm bank in a private room.

Your semen will be tested for low sperm count and other factors such as the overall motility (speed) and physiology (appearance) of your sperm.

Pricing And Fees

If you get test results and don’t meet the criteria for sperm, don’t despair. Sperm quality parameters are probably higher than those required for completely normal fertility.

If you go through this long application process, you can be honest with the donor coordinator or similar manager at the sperm bank. This person will make sure you agree with the reality (and ethics) of being a sperm donor.

While you may think that donating sperm is just about the money, there are also real ethical considerations to consider. You have to ask yourself if there is anything wrong with raising an unknown child. You must prevent your child from having a parental relationship with you.

If you agree with this, you can be happy that your gift is giving life and children to the world.

Ask The Experts

If you made it this far, congratulations. Sperm banks claim that only 1-5% of applicants make it through the screening process and decide to become an active donor.

There’s one last hurdle to being able to get paid to donate sperm as a regular donor: your vial of semen must survive the freezing process. Your first gift is stored in liquid nitrogen and unfrozen after 6 months. If you swim through this process long enough, you’ll be retested for infection and then you can donate as you wish.

Sperm donation is safe. Each male produces an average of 120 million sperm per day from puberty until death. The average ejaculation releases 200 million sperm so that healthy men can quickly replenish their reserves.

There is a release rate in 2022 that shows you can earn $100 per gift. If you donate three times a week, you can get up to $1,200 a month for donating sperm.

The two largest sperm banks in California are Cryobank and Fairfax Cryobank. Their website is a good place to start, but you can also find local sperm banks.

I don’t know if I will pass the selection process or not, but the options in this game are very useful during college. Since he was not from a wealthy family, he had very little money to go to college.

$14,400 a year is still nothing to sneeze at, especially early in the career. (For example, half the down payment on a single-family home is a rental!)

Therefore, as a secondary option for healthy men, I would rate sperm donation as a viable option (if you can pass the screening process).
